DAVID + CHRIS // TURNER FARM WEDDING

What. A. Day. Seriously, it was all time. An hour ferry ride to a pristine Maine Island to photograph the love between two amazing men. Followed by the ultimate farm to table 5 star dining experience and some incredible speeches. Oh, and the rainy morning made way for sunny skies as they exchanged vows. I got to work with a rockstar planner, Sandy Shapiro Hurt with and I had the super talented Michele Stapleton as my second photographer. Unreal. Chris & David – thank you for having me along for the ride in this most memorable of days.

NICOLE + JOE // HARDY FARM WEDDING

When the bride and groom bring a handle of Fireball to accompany wedding party introductions, you know you’re in for a good time. At the end of the day, Nicole and Joe’s Hardy Farm wedding was filled with all kinds of fun and memorable moments. Fryburg Maine is home to one of Maine’s best barn wedding venues, Hardy Farm. The rustic white washed interior is a stunning backdrop for photos. A short walk down into the woods and you’re greeted with an idyllic woodland chapel. A few steps further brings you to a beautiful sail cloth tented reception. The venue provided the perfect spot for this lovely couple, who I fondly refer to as family. Nicole and Joe’s wedding was highlighted by a couple of handsome bow tie wearing pups, some of the funniest wedding party photos I’ve shot, and a raucous boot tappin reception. I can’t help but recall some of the finest mountain scenery just down the road. A quick ride away from the cocktail hour was well worth it as this session provided some of my favorite photos of the year. Best wishes Nicole & Joe! Here’s to a lifetime of happiness!

KELSIE + JAMES // LINEKIN BAY WEDDING

Air Force pilots, Kelsie and James tied the knot at one of my favorite venues, Linekin Bay Resort. Fall weather doesn’t get any better than this, an absolute stunner for Maine standards! It was warm enough for the bridal party to take a cruise around the harbor prior to the ceremony. They clearly have a special connection with their fur baby / golden retriever who was invited to be part of the ceremony as well. A sweet exchange of vows was followed by majestic light for photos, a remarkable remake of Washington crossing the Delaware, and a fun filled night at the reception. James represented his love for his country loud and proud with a custom American Flag button down. And, boy oh boy, did those groomsmen do a memorable performance to “juke box hero”. Some days, it all comes together perfectly. Kelsie & James – a beautiful wedding for two incredible humans – much love to both of you as you depart on this journey together.

RACHEL + ANDREW // INN ON PEAKS WEDDING

Rachel and Andrew are quite the adventurous couple – I knew from the moment we met that it would be a fun ride. Starting with their engagement session, where the couple requested photos at both the coast and at her parent’s lake house an hour apart. We started at Two Lights State park, featuring the beautiful rocky coast before traveling inland to Sebago Lake for sunset portraits. The session provided a great opportunity to get to know them better leading up to their summer wedding on Peaks Island.

The day of the wedding, my colleague Peter and I boarded the ferry over to Peaks surrounded by picture perfect Maine summer weather. I always love going out to the Inn on Peaks, as it gives guests a unique perspective out on the water on their way to one of Maine’s best venues. Jayson and his team are on point with their attention to detail and it’s always a joy to work with them. Rachel and Andrew’s day was highlighted by so many amazing moments – the speeches were definitely some of the finest I’ve heard and the emotional parent dances were truly memorable. For me though, it’s all about the dance party – Bob Charest Band always brings out the best in wedding guests, and this night was no different. Lots of familiar faces on the dance floor, which is always nice to see.

Rachel and Andrew, the two of you were phenomenal to work with – Best wishes, a lifetime of love and laughter! Here are my favorite images from their engagement session and gorgeous peaks island wedding:

LINDSAY + KEVIN // A SAMOSET RESORT WEDDING

From the moment I spoke to Kevin and Lindsey, I knew working with them would be a wonderful experience. Our first face to face meeting was actually in Boston for their fall engagement session. We visited the charming Acorn Street and their alma mater, Boston College, grabbing a few portraits along the way. They were so sweet together and easy to photograph – we chatted about how they met and how excited they were for their summer wedding in Maine. By the time their wedding rolled around, we had established a wonderful connection and strong level of trust.

We were greeted with quintessential Maine summer weather for their July nuptials. The sprawling property at the Samoset was in immaculate condition, offering endless photo backdrops for us to work with. Lindsay and Kevin had hired an elite group of Maine wedding vendors to work with. Kristina, with Purple Orchid was dialed in with wedding day details and logistics. I got to work side by side with Josh Swan (Media Northeast) who is not only an amazing videographer, but also one of the nicest guys to hang with. For their reception entertainment, they hired the band, Wavelength, who were simply phenomenal. When you have this kind of talent at one of Maine’s premier wedding venues, you are guaranteed to have a good time. The photos below help take me back to that truly memorable day in July. I hope Lindsay and Kevin can do the same 50 years down the road.
